Personal Track Safety (AC) Recertification

Description

This course is intended for candidates who wish to continue working on or near the line on Network Rail’s infrastructure and wish to be re-certificated.

Re-certification is required every two years and consists of a one day classroom based course and assessment.

Course Aims

Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to continue working on or near the line competently in accordance with the Rule Book and Network Rail standards.

Course Content

The course includes written exams, practical activities and assessment, supported by theory based presentations involving:
• Welcome & Introduction.
• The need for PTS Recertification.
• Course workbook.
• Communicating Clearly.
• Course Workbook review and further training.
• Revision including Optional Interactive Review.
• Theory and Verbal assessments.
• Feedback and Post Course Objectives.

Accreditation

PQMS will upload the relevant competence outcome(s) and result(s) to the Sentinel system.

Prerequisites

• Candidate must hold current track safety card and meet the requirements of NR/L2/CTM/021 – Competence and training in track safety.
• Candidate must bring a log book with at least 4 entries & 2 management reviews.
• Candidate must meet the requirements of Network Rail medical standards NR/L2/OHS/00124
• Candidate must meet the requirements of Network Rail drugs and alcohol standards NR/L1/OHS/051.
