Description
The Award in Communication Cabling is an industry recognised course that covers all the basics of fibre networks including: splicing, testing, terminating and jointing. The course helps develop the knowledge and skills required to become effective in the installation of communication cables and connecting to relevant systems. The Level 2 Award in Communications Cabling will suit you if you're new to communication cabling, or have some basic experience. Or if you want to gain the knowledge to succeed in a job or move on to further study.

Course Aims
Delegates will be competent to carry out work in the following areas:
• Theory of fibre optic transmission, performance issues and current standards
• Working safely in commercial properties following installation procedures
• Fibre termination using connectors and splicers
• Loss Budget Calculations
• Fault finding and interpreting test results
Course Content
The Course Includes a large amount of practical activities, practical assessment and written exam,which will be supplemented with classroom based tutorials, involving:
Unit 101 – Basic Principles of Communications Cabling
Unit 102 – Fibre Optic Cabling in an Internal Environment
Unit 103 – Fibre Optic Cabling in an External Environment
Unit 203 – Fibre Optic Cabling in an Internal Environment
Unit 203 – Fibre Optic Cabling in an External Environment
Accreditation
Upon Successful completion, the delegates will be awaded a qualification in
