BPEC Part P (Defined/Full Scope Domestic Electrical Installer) 6 Day Course

The defined scope qualification is completed over a five-day period and the full scope qualification is completed on the sixth day.

Please note that the above qualification is aimed at installers who work under the supervision of a ‘qualified supervisor’.

Course Aims

The Part P assessments are designed for installers that carry out electrical installation work in dwellings under the supervision of a Qualified Supervisor.

Course Content

Part P Electrical defined and full scope qualifications normally consist of a combination of both practical assessment and theory examinations, including

• Basic electrical principles and theory
• Legislation and regulations
• Electrical safety
• Domestic installations theory 1,2 and 3 way lighting, ring and radial sockets, showers, and consumer units.
• Domestic installation best practice
• Domestic lighting circuits SELV
• Maintaining domestic installations
• 3 phase supplies
• Testing and documentation
• Steel Wire Armoured Cable Termination


BPEC Part P (Defined/Full Scope Domestic Electrical Installer)


6 Days


Applicants should have previous experience in the installation and maintenance of domestic electrical installations. Applicants for the full scope assessment are required to hold the defined scope qualification.

Candidates wishing to take re-assessment must have held the assessment element previously – if this element has expired within 12 months of the assessment date, it will be necessary to take the initial assessment.
