Course Aims

The module target audience, are engineers working on the Openreach network including BT Northern Ireland, BT Operate and External Suppliers (Contractors)

Course Content

This module covers the delegate’s awareness of MDF techniques, including block numbering, jumper running, termination and frame safety, as well as the delegate’s product knowledge of PSTN, ADSL, LLU (MPF & SMPF), SDSL, ISDN and DACS. This covers the delegate’s understanding of Openreach’s acronyms (in regular current use), circuit design of ‘jumpered’ products, jumpering methods, tools and equipment and an understanding of frames procedures and MDF repair clear codes. This covers the ability of the delegate to demonstrate their understanding of block numbering, jumper running and termination procedures when working on the MDF, paying particular attention to the safety of their working environment, their tools, other people working nearby and themselves.
