Course Aims

The module target audience, are engineers working on the Openreach network including BT Northern Ireland, BT Operate and external suppliers (Contractors)

Course Content

This module involves an assessment of the audits on work done on the D-Side underground network, including PCPs and associated distribution points. The delegate will conduct six ‘D-side’ audits selected by the assessor and record their findings on the blank answer sheet provided. Closures (ie, in-line & cap end closures, pedcaps, MC 30 series etc). Permanent approved closure defects – foils, scops, pegs, splits, burns and adhesive. Uncapped stumped cables/loose cables. Jointing defects - wet joint, corrosion, ”shiners”, twisted pairs, crimps and blue crimps. PCPs - door, duct seals, nipped insulation, jumper faults and blue crimps. Block terminal faults - corroded inserts, missing modules and cleaning. An ‘open’, obsolete closure (Taped or plugs expanding)
