Who Attends.
Personnel who need to learn Timber and Steel trench support systems, as part of the skill set that enables them to do their job and meeting the needs of the company, client and legislation. These will include; engineers, operational managers, supervisors and operatives.

Course Aims

The Aim:
To give delegates knowledge and skills required to install trench support and to give delegates an understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practice, company and client procedures and what they mean in relation to installing trench support.

Objective:
At the end of the programme, delegates will be able to understand the relevant legislation and codes of practice, Identify the different types of ground and the hazards they represent, and select the appropriate method of trench support through risk assessment. Delegates will be competent instaling timber and steel shoring systems, and learn to Safely remove and dismantle the trench support.

The course includes Practical activities and assessment, a written exam, supported by theory based presentations.

Accreditation

Upon Successful completion, the candidate will be awarded the following qualifications.

EUSR Category 3: Install,inspect and remove Tmber Support Systems
EUSR Category 4: Install,inspect and remove Steel Support Systems
