Who Attends:
This course is suitable for: Aged 16 +, who are responsible for overseeing fire safety, including designated fire marshals and anyone who needs to know how to use a fire extinguisher.

Course Aims

To present an understanding of fire regulations and general fire precautions. It aims to provide you with the knowledge to be become a fire marshal.

Objective:
On completion of this course delegates will; Have an understanding of the fire risks in the workplace. Be able to evacuate the premises effectively and understand how spreads and the best way to tackle a fire. Delegates can recognise fire safety risks and how to prevent them.

Course Content

The course includes Practical activities and assessment, supported by a theory based presentation, involving:

• How to recognise the cost of fire
• The role of the fire marshal
• Liaison with the fire service
• Action on discovering a fire
• Fire safety legislation
• The chemistry of fire
• Common causes of fire
• Fire safety precautions and prevention
• Fire drills and evacuation
• How to use fire extinguishers.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the course the delegate will be issued a certificate of attendance.
